City of Deerfield starts the New Year out wasting taxpayers dollars.

It's Monday evening and I'm going over the Regular City Commission Meeting Agenda for tomorrow and what do I see on the Consent Agenda #7 ?
7 Resolution 2009/ - A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Deerfield Beach approving the purchase from Discreet Wireless of vehicle tracking devices, including installation, for use by the Public Works Department, pursuant to the terms and conditions in accordance with RFP 2008-09/03, for a total cost not to exceed $50,000.00, and specifying the funds therefore. ACTION: Commission to vote on Resolution

Now, if you want to talk about a waste a taxpayers money, this has to be the first incompetent fiscal move of 2009, by Deerfield Beach, excuse me, Weirdfield Beach government. District 2 needs a traffic turn light at Hillsboro Blvd. and MLK and a baseball field at Westside Park. The city management is asking the Commission for $50,000 of taxpayers dollars to wastefully spend it on some damn tracking devices.( excuse my language, I have to vent) I'm not forgetting about other parts of the city that can use $50,000 to better their area. This is irresponsible spending. I hope more residents step up and oppose this waste of taxpayers dollars. These are tough times , I don't have a problem with them buying tracking devices. Not now, in these tough economic times. Do anyone still care?
